The digital divide.

Since I didn't post at all for the month of October, (I was busy getting my Halloween costume ready) I figure I had better get it in gear. So, I thought I would mention the new Eee PC. It is a small laptop that is under $300. That means hopefully, a lot more people will be able to afford one. But, I think a bunch of computer geeks are snatching them up, so I don't think the masses are going to be able to pick one up this holiday season. Wal-Mart also has an under $300 computer this shoping season. And it's not nearly as cool. But the remarkable thing about both these computers is they run on Linux. Which is free so they can keep their cost down.

You must have had a great halloween costume. I thought I spent a lot of time on my costume. Interesting info about the new inexpensive computers. It will be interesting to see how well they do.

I think it's really cool how affordable computers are becoming. Not only is it convenient (providing the quality is OK) but it might also change middle and high schools dramatically if every kid can afford a laptop to work on.

I am wondering what kind of laptops they are going to offer on the Black Friday sale this time. I remember last year they had $200 laptops and I was not an early bird (nor night owl). I am curious on these computers because usually those stores just try to attract customers, so they have 10 available.

Well, it is a good thing to have a laptop handy. I am sure I won't go for the laptop deal this time. I need a good sleep.:)

Great to know PCs have come down in price, especially if it is a laptop design. I would be curious to know how fast the computers are at that cheap price... Hardware is everything for todays technology and demanding software programs. Games such as Second Life require a lot of speed and memory. I wonder if these cheap models can handle today marketing tools and programs. Linux is a great option for free service. Good info.
